Machining
The vast majority of plastic and metalworking will fall under machining. This includes all operations that produce chips or shavings from the processed material. In fact, every form of material processing is machining, which makes the processed product lighter or smaller.
The great thing about machining is that you can create your end product from almost any semi-finished product. Whether it concerns a ring, shaft, bush or other part, machining offers the solution. Which material and which machining technique is needed to make your required components depends on your wishes. And as a versatile machining specialist, we are happy to help you with that!
- You can contact us for machining of all types of metal and plastic
- We guarantee a perfect product by using high-quality cutting tools and our know-how
- Thanks to our extensive range of machinery, we offer every form of machining
- Our 5-axis machines increase quality, shorten lead time and reduce costs
- With our CNC extended length lathes we can machine large series with consistent quality
No machining technique is too crazy
Not only the type of material is important to achieve your desired end product, the machining method also plays a role. CNC machining is done with both milling and turning. For smaller quantities, it is more efficient to machine your parts conventionally. Is your problem becoming more complex or the volume increasing? Then CNC Machining works best. CNC stands for Computer Numerical Control. With this machining technique, the entire production process is automated. This makes the process, despite its scale, less labour-intensive. Ideal for saving time and costs!
Machining of all types of metal and plastic
At Olpa Hank we can machine any type of material. Whether it’s machining metal or plastic, we can handle it. To give you an idea:
- Stainless steel (including 303, 304, 316, 431)
- Aluminium (including 6060, 6082)
- Steel (including c45, St.37 / S355)
- Wear-resistant superalloys (including Hastelloy, Inconel, (Super)duplex and Titanium)
- Plastics (including Nylon, PEEK, PES and POM)
The above list of metals and non-ferrous metals gives a good impression, but is by no means complete.
Because we can machine so many materials, we can use the exact material for production that best suits your needs. In doing so, we naturally look for the ideal mix of minimum requirements and the lowest possible cost of the final product
Accurate tolerance, precision and quality
Thanks to years of experience with precision mechanical machining, we know the tricks of the trade. We know which machines and tools to use to achieve the most accurate tolerance. We know how to control the inevitable wear and tear of tools. And we know how products remain dimensionally stable. This way we always manage to keep all items coming off the machine identical.
How do we guarantee that? Thanks to the use of accurate measuring instruments. After machining, your parts are subjected to a random measurement test. With the use of digital micrometres (groove, edge, inside, outside), height gauges and various digital callipers, we carefully check the size and you can be sure that the dimensions of your parts are correct.
To have extra security regarding screw threads, they are checked with callipers. We also offer the option to measure all items on our 3D measuring machine.
Which machining operations do we perform?
Actually, we routinely carry out all machining operations. Point. However, there are some forms of machining that are most common:
- Milling
- Turning
- Drilling
For technical and industrial sectors, these methods have proven to best meet demand. But we wouldn’t be a real machining company if we couldn’t also do boring, tapping and much more.
For years we have been a specialist in machining technology for various industries
We have proudly supplied machined parts and end products to companies from various industries for years. Examples are:
- Tweezers for the medical industry
- Stainless steel pots for the food industry
- Sensor points for potatoes in the agricultural sector
- Special agitator rods for mechanical engineering
- Windshield wiper arms for shipbuilding
The possibilities are truly endless.
We are located in Raamsdonksveer (North Brabant), a great trade and industry location. The nearby border of the provinces of South Holland and Utrecht makes this location ideal for us as a specialist in machining technology to serve the whole of the Netherlands (and sometimes beyond).
